ALEXANDER SAMSON

Visual artist

Samson is a multimedia visual artist based in Windsor Locks, CT. With a BFA from Hartford Art School, he has established himself as a rising talent, with his works landing in private collections across the globe.

His latest ink on paper series is a masterclass in contemplative art. Through these visual meditations, Samson delves into the human condition, exploring the duality of form with a keen sense of intuitive brushwork. In particular, his potted plant abstractions serve as totems of the marriage between our abstract and physical realities.

As Bruce Lee said, "The stillness in stillness is not the real stillness; only when there is stillness in movement does the universal rhythm manifest." Here we see this philosophy come to life, as Samson invites us into the metaphors we live by.

On the night of April 22, 1978, Bob Marley brought together and joined hands with the leaders of the rival political parties of Jamaica. The One Love Peace Concert marked Bob's return to Jamaica after a 14-month self-imposed exile following an assassination attempt on his life. With extraordinary efforts to alleviate violence through peace, love, and music, it's been said that this was the night that he went from showman to shaman.

Terence McKenna was a renowned American author, lecturer, ethnobotanist, and advocate of psychedelics. Born in 1946, he became a prominent figure in the counterculture movement of the 1960s and 70s. McKenna's work primarily focused on the exploration of altered states of consciousness, and he gained significant recognition for his groundbreaking ideas on the human mind's relationship with psychedelic plants and substances.

McKenna's most notable contributions include the development of the "Stoned Ape" theory, which hypothesized that early human evolution was influenced by the consumption of psychedelic mushrooms. He also authored several influential books, such as "The Archaic Revival" and "Food of the Gods," which explored the cultural and spiritual significance of psychoactive plants. Terence McKenna's charismatic lectures and thought-provoking writings continue to inspire individuals interested in the intersections of consciousness, psychedelics, and human evolution.
